This series captures the Whitworth Art Gallery in Manchester, exploring the interplay of light and materiality within its architectural design. Through a focus on spatial experience, the images highlight how natural illumination and tactile surfaces shape the gallery’s atmosphere, offering a contemplative study of form, texture, and environment.
This series of images also spans months and times of day, with a focus on how the building comes alive in the evening through the lighting design throughout the space. By stripping away the context through shooting at night, what is left is a play of negative space, letting the viewer focus on the delicacy of movement, light and materiality.
